Ready-to-Wear Runway Show | Spring 2015

My passion is evening wear/bridal gowns - I love getting dressed up and of course anything with sparkles!! BUT I realized that I like designing/making those dresses more for enjoyment rather than for clients. My shop is mostly filled with separates that can be dressed up and worn to weddings, or dressed down for everyday (a fancy everyday) so I thought it would be fun to incorporate different items I sell on my website into a less formal collection. I am either one extreme, dressed up in all my sparkles or lounging in sweatpants - which is why I love mixing casual sweatshirt material with sparkles and jewels. Combining the two extremes into fun wearable outfits.

Early Designs | Sequin Maxi Skirt

I started designing dresses when I was in high school (if I’m being honest, my first actual design was in elementary school. I had a favorite dress that I grew out of and was so sad about it, so I went to JoAnn’s with my mom and we picked out a coordinating fabric. We cut up the dress (it was a cotton stripe pink/orange/yellow (my childhood favorite colors) shift dress, and used the extra fabric (hot pink satin) to make a new skirt - I really wish I had a photo of it! In high school I made two homecoming dresses and two prom dresses, with a few other skirts/dresses in between.

After high school I moved to NYC to study Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). I received my Associate degree in 2010 and then went on to business school at Brigham Young University (BYU), where I received my Bachelor degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing in 2014. While at BYU I participated in my first fashion show in 2013.

Here are a few of my first designs from high school/FIT/first fashion show.
